Supported
Handball is supported by the British Olympic Association and the governments sports agencies UK Sport, Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust.
London Handball Association is the regional partner of England Handball Association and British Handball Association.
The British Olympic Association’s (BOA) mission is to transform British lives through the power of the Olympic values and the success of Team GB.
The BOA’s principal role is to prepare and lead our nation’s finest athletes at the summer, winter and youth Olympic Games. Working with the National Governing Bodies, the BOA selects Team GB from the best sportsmen and women who will go on to compete in the 26 summer and 7 winter Olympic sports at the greatest sporting competition in the world.
The BOA is independent and privately funded. We receive no funding from the lottery or government and have no political interests. The success of our mission is entirely dependent upon the income we receive from our fundraising and events. The BOA is the strong, independent voice for British Olympic Sport and is responsible for promoting the Olympic Movement throughout the UK. For further information please visit the official website.
The Youth Sport Trust is an independent charity, established in 1994 with a mission to build a brighter future for young people through PE and sport.
The trust is focused on creating a world-leading PE and sport system that reaches, inspires and engages all young people – whatever their age or ability.
Full details of all the programmes run by the Youth Sport Trust can be found by visiting the official website.
UK Sport is the strategic lead body for high performance sport in the UK. It invests Exchequer and National Lottery funds in Britain’s best Olympic and Paralympic sports and athletes to maximise their chances of success on the world stage. For London and beyond, a third stream of private sector funding – Team 2012 – complements this public investment.
Using a ‘No Compromise’ philosophy which targets investment at those most likely to deliver medals at Olympic and Paralympic level, UK Sport works with each sport to provide the best possible support for athletes, providing everything they need from world-class coaches to cutting edge research and innovation, talent identification and Performance Lifestyle support.
Sport England is focused on the creation of a world-leading community sport system.
We invest National Lottery and Exchequer funding in organisations and projects that will grow and sustain participation in grassroots sport and create opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport. Our structure reflects this focus.
Formerly known as the English Sports Council, we work in partnership with UK Sport, which has responsibility for elite success, and the Youth Sport Trust, which is focused on PE and school sport.
Accountable to Parliament through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, we also have a role protecting sports provision as a statutory consultee on planning applications that affect playing fields
