Through there own interest and enterprise a number of schools have created their own Handball clubs and teams which have competed in intra or inter school Handball fixtures.

In addition Handball is being given considerable support because the Olympic and Paralympic Games are being hosted in London.  The Change4Life Sports Clubs initiative focuses on building a network of new school sport clubs based on seven Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Handball is fortunate to be a sport included in the initiative and 420 schools chose Handball as the sport in which they wished to create a sports club during the school year 2011 – 2012.

Thirty-one Handball clubs were created in London schools as part of the initiative.  London Handball Association is now aware of more than 50 schools teaching, coaching and playing Handball in London.
